    Description

This is one great scabbard.  I purchased this at a rendezvous many years ago.  I have used it with a Henry repro rifle.  The skin is a heavy duty buckskin, could be elk?  There is a reinforced area 8" long of stiff rawhide, probably to protect a musket lock & hammer.  The fringe on the bottom of the barrel is 12" long and tapers to 10". The fringe at the end of the barrel is 8".  The fringe at the stock end is 8".  Overall length is 38" without fringe.  The width at the stock end is 7" and 3" at barrel end.  The accommodates most winchester style lever actions and carbines as well as many muskets.  There are scuff marks  and some stains on the skin, but no tares of holes and stitching is very good with no gaps. Thanks for looking here.
