GLIDDENS 2-PT on FOUR SMALL & ONE LARGE LINE BARB on LARGE - ANTIQUE BARBED WIRE

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called "Glidden's Two Point Barb on Four Small & One Large Line - Barb on Large, by collectors. (ref Hagemeier - 858-B) This wire features five twisted together round line wires. There are four lighter weight lines, and one larger line. Barbs are on larger line. Glidden barbs are made by wrapping a round barbing wire twice around one line wire. This sample is 18" in length and has six barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows some age wear with moderate pitting.. There are no broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings.
