    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Williah H. Jayne & James H. Hill patent, dated April 11, 1876. This wire is called "Jayne & Hills Locked Staples around Two Lines", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 568-B). This wire features two round line wires, that are twisted together. Barbs are four pointed made by locking two staple shaped barbs together around both lines. These barbs were applied with a hand operated tool. This sample is 18" in length and has three barbs. There is also a one line factory splice. Barbs are not well spaced, but splice is fairly well centered in cut. Wire shows age wear, with moderate to heavy pitting. There are no bent, broken or missing barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
