    Description

    MANGAS COLORADOS RIDES AGAIN
This unique antique poster, which is printed in
    Spanish
, portrays the bravest, most noble and most heroic Native American Chief of the Southwest, Mangas Colorados (Born 1793, murdered in captivity in 1862 by the U.S. Army by order of Brigadier General Joseph Rodman West). In his early years he fought the Mexicans and was allied with the U.S. in the Mexican-American War. However, after the U.S. betrayed the Apaches by repeatedly breaking its treaties with them he made a pact with Cochise and Geronimo to drive the white man out of Indian Territory, which was a goal he never attained although he wreaked havoc on the white's progress. Read his story here:

The poster looks hand painted due to its archaic printing technique, so the colors may vary slightly. It has tiny perforations outlining 10 Spanish Civil War food ration coupons on back!!
    Approx. 8.25" x 11.75" in size.
Superb and seldom seen poster with a Southwest Native American theme! Awesome piece for framing!!
