. begun in the BOISE, IDAHO area in 1939 by the Eubanks family.   Family members had been producing holsters for some time before, but this was their first start with a formal business venture.   The EUBANKS company name and business were sold to an older company,  PIONEER TENT & AWNING. (inc about 1900).
Royal Eubanks, (I have had the pleasure of sharing  some EMAIL & company history with his grandson) was the son of the original founder of Eubanks Leather.  He went into business again as the
Idaho Leather Company
around 1955, making the same type of products that were made by the earlier Eubanks Co.  You will notice the similarities.   They continue in business today, run by Ben Wetzel still in the same location as the original Eubanks Leather Co.
Says the current owner, Ben, of Idaho Leather, "I wouldn't make or ship anything I wouldn't use myself."
We made an Amazing find. From the Estate of a large and discriminating collector...and holster maker himself. Over 200 vintage and rare name brands, all in nice to near new condition. R. Payne, seemed to really like Texas Made rigs. Collected a copied the style in his work, which in itself was noteworthy...yet he never went commercial, just made them for friends and family and his own satisfaction.
These rigs, mostly western holsters and belts will list over the next few weeks as fast as I can get them up, so keep a look out as new ones will pop up everyday.

IT HAS SEVERAL MODIFICATIONS AFTERMARKET

It is a single ply thick, oil finished, hand rubbed, thick leather that feels broken in from the start.
A full lining adds a second level of thickness.
With the EUBANKS logo, this is from the 1950s, this is the vintage MODEL 61, Straight
SLOTTED GUN BELT.
THIS IS A RIGHT HOLSTER RIG
This cartridge belt has 21 Loops.
12 Are original for .38/.357
9 are modified to hold .44/.44 Magnum
The loops are threaded into belt, the best design for a long lasting rig.
and allowed fo the modification and will allow it to be restored also.
The belt is
3" wide
, with the loops across the center of the back to each hip.
The Buckle is a Metal, material covered.  The buckle is  riveted in.

Overall = 39"
(buckle to end of billet tip...which goes past end of belt
The belt has 6 original adjustment holes
From buckle to CENTER HOLES =
34.5" - 35.5"
From Buckle to NEAREST HOLE = 33"
From Buckle to FAR HOLE = 37"
Extra hole added to the closer one at 32"
This belt is usually worn over the pants so allow a couple of inches over your waist size or more depending on how rakish an angle you want to carry.
This belt should properly original fit a 28-30" waist person with comfort.
It is best to measure your waist, outisde the pants, as you want to wear this and use that measurement for a proper fit
If you have an old style hip holster and want a good match for it, or just a good solid belt for your modern gun, this maybe for you
